hmm, shouldn't the nature of the internet be more resilient to a break in one communication line/node?
Will not bring whole Internet down, but does not mean there is no problem when a submarine cable is broken. There will be speed affected after capacity losses. And until the routers had been re-programmed in response to the damages, those users who were still depending on the broken pipe will still lost some access. Once rerouted their connections will resume, but mostly still be at some speed losses due to sharing with additional users. At this time, my connections are OK already, I am not downloading any huge things now, so I can not know if my speed is slower than before. I have no time to test.
