Suspect nabbed after shooting early Saturday in Coquitlam
The Canadian Press
February 8, 2009
A 19-year-old Port Moody, B.C. resident is in custody after a man was shot and wounded in an apparent robbery attempt early Saturday.
Coquitlam RCMP say they responded to a call of shots fired and quickly arrested a man not far from the shooting scene.
Police say it appears the two men met earlier and the shooting was a result of an attempted robbery.
A 22-year-old Port Moody, B.C., resident was treated and released for a gunshot wound to his leg.
RCMP say the suspect faces charges of aggravated assault, robbery and weapon-related offences.
He'll appear in Port Coquitlam Provincial court on Monday.
