I haven't seen the movie but I've read Schulz' short stories and I really recommend them. I dare to say they're nothing like you've read before.
It's a litte offtopic, but since you're portuguese I have to admit that I studied portuguese philology for a year at the university. I quit...I'm not sure why. But improving my portuguese is one of my goals and hopefully someday I'll be able to read Pessoa in the original.
Anyway, read Schulz!
