Hi Leeslight,
Interesting question. I can’t speak from experience either so can only hypothesize the possibilities. I’m thinking that a person’s return from a coma would depend on a few things. One, has the person completed what they needed to in this life or is there still more to be done? And can they do it, with the body in the condition it will be in once recovered from the Coma.
Two, will the person who comes out of the Coma be the same as the one who entered into it. There are some who offer the suggestion that sometimes when a soul has had enough, it may take leave of its body and let another soul step in. It’s called a walk-in I believe and accounts for changes in personalities and lack of memory about their past.
Personally, I’m inclined toward the first option. If your Aunt still has more to do from the perspective of her soul, not those around her, then she will probably come back. If her soul feels to stay will not further her soul’s purpose, regardless of those around her wanting her to stay, she will likely leave.
That’s my logical perspective and one that makes sense to me. Usually when people are sickly and near death, I don’t pray for their recovery. I pray that whatever needs to take place that is best for this soul occurs. It is after all, their life, not ours. Whatever happens to your Aunt, know it is what is best for her. What is best for you or her loved ones should not be a part of the equation. When we love someone, we want what is best for them, regardless of its effect on ourselves. Give her your love and let her decide what is best.
As to your question, is it like dying and coming back? Perhaps, in the sense they may temporarily depart the body to consult with guides or seek help from a soul perspective to help in their decision. And perhaps in the same sense that if they still have more to do, they come back. But, will they remember what happened in between? I think it is difficult to come back and continue living your life and trying to accomplish your original purpose if your perspective is now completely changed. So I suspect though they may leave the body while in the coma, they will, as a rule, not remember what happened when they did.
Whatever happens for your Aunt, as difficult as it might be, realize it was indeed what was best for her even if it's not for you.
