I believe that in a coma, they can leave the body and interact with level 1 (where ghosts hang out). The reason I believe this is because my fiance' works in a hospital. I went to visit him and I could see them wandering around.

A lady I knew who was dying from pancreatic cancer went into a coma for a week. She sat in the chair of the room and had a conversation with me as we both looked at her body. She wished they would remove the tubes and let her body die. She realized that her time was up and wanted to be let go. Though she said it was fun to eavesdrop, she really wanted to see her family on the Other Side.

A few times when I did readings, I talked to coma and even severe dementia/Alzheimer's patients. They passed messages to their families about wanting to go home and wishing the body would release them.
