I use to hear a lot that focusing on your breathing helps tremendously for some people. Well, not for me... Because then I'm just thinking really hard to focus on my breathing and everything feels kind of "forced". lol But maybe you should try this, it works for a lot of people.
I don't think there's any right way of doing this, it just comes naturally... Perhaps some people have their own "tricks" I just try to feel an emptyness in my mind whenever I do this...
