Now its my turn to tell you a bit about "The People" I am Chippewa (by the white name) Ojibwe or Annishinawbeg by my people's name.
NA's are people, those still on the Rez have issues with letting it go. They get caught up in alcohol (which we cannot drink without major issues, something with our bloodline) and they don't evolve. The older people on the Rez's also stay because they grew up there and it's all they know.
The government gives them SO many resources, most of them are bitter and angry and choose to continue to hate the white man for their suffering.
HUMANS make their own suffering. They can just as easily move off the Rez, get a job, maintain a life like the rest of the human race. They have more benefits than most "whites". I am not proud of some of the views of my people. We cannot blame those Spanish/French/German etc people for our problems.
That was too many years ago to hold a grudge. IF they still do.... it's their own issues and they need to work through them.
I am not prejudice, I refused to blame anyone for my problems. We are hear to learn and evolve. Nothing that happened before was a mistake. It was a lesson, for everyone involved.
It's time for us to take responsibility for who we are now and not fight the fight of the 7 grandfathers.
Aho
