They got that backwards. We don't like being called "Indian". Columbus thought he had landed in INDIA.. hence Indians. We are Natives to America. So NA is the proper term. Most of us simply go by our band. I am Ojibwe some are Lakota, some are Cree, etc.

I guess its similar to people who would rather be called African American than Black or colored people.



Cool, I didn't know you were an N/A. I went to a Cherokee reservation once and at a show they had, they had a few N/A storytellers and they explained why it was okay to call them Indians instead of N/A. I've also heard that Indians are against the term, "Native American" because it was given to them by the white man and they view it as black man would view the term, "n*****". Is this true?
