You can lead a horse to water and you can even hold it's head down but you just can't make it drink the water.

most of the time I think it is FEAR that keeps them from believeing.
Inner fear..
.fear of the church'
fear of God'

and the older a person is the harder to let go of these fears as they have had a lot of years of being TOLD what is what and then for someone else to say but what if that is all wrong just throws them for a loop.

just my thoughts on this
