It seems to me that this comes mostly from fear, but also from conditioning by the materialists. Remember school? What were you taught? That everything is material and anything that isn't, isn't real. It's a sad thing to see. Schools condition our young ones to think materialism is the only reality. Those that think differently are made fun of and after a while, you quit talking about it and think there's something wrong with you if you have different experiences. So you get set in the materialist world view and if something comes along that questions that, you become of afraid. The question is are they afraid of being right or being wrong? Or perhaps they want to believe, but are afraid the materialist are right and therefore won't look into it because it's better to not know than to find out the materialists are right and there is nothing else.

That's exactly how I feel. "Or perhaps they want to believe, but are afraid the materialist are right and therefore won't look into it because it's better to not know than to find out the materialists are right and there is nothing else."

The problem is just about everytime I look into it, I've been met with things that make just about no sense, or bits and pieces of information that are insignificant. How am I supposed to believe when I trusted and asked, meditated many times, and nothing happened? It's as if the other side of it wants me to stay unaware. I feel like I'm not a part of anything greater than this, even if there were! And in fact, I even feel as if I'm not apart of the material.

Now others will say that even the material world view makes no sense. Now what? How am I supposed to fit in anywhere if neither is true. I'd prefer there were more to this world but that's not what I was able to percieve. I'd really rather not exist like this anymore with all the confusion. Yes, I am afraid. Afraid to keep looking and to continue to find nothing, or not enough.

(I wasn't talking directly to anyone)
