I can shed some more light on this perhaps. After being a very spiritual person for several years, I somehow fell into disbelief. I did for a few years believe that there was nothing there that could not be proved. Well then I ran onto the unexplained. It was real and confirmed by others. I saw a ghost. I was not worried about the ghost. I was worried about being placed in a mental institutin if I continued talking to persons who weren't there.
Then I realized that I knew absolutely nothing. Everything that I thought I had figured out with my reasoning mind was WRONG! lol It is a quite difficult place to be in. Denial is a very good friend at times.
So some time later I wondered why I had become a skeptic. Then I was shown a past life. Myself and 2 other women were hanged. It turns out we would have visions and warn people that bad things would happen to them. They decided we were witches and making these bad things happen ourselves. Then I was shown even more lives where I was destroyed. Even back a very long time ago, people who told the truth were targets for assination attempts. So I am sure all of these things are still carried by many in their soul memory. Perhaps this is the biggest reason for fearing the unexplained?
