Your main spirit guide is with you since day one. Spirit guides are always giving you signs, but the average person doesn't listen. Contacting your spirit guide while in a conscious state is difficult because you would have to be in a room with no noise and you have to go into meditation and clear all the noise and chatter from your head (which takes practice), an Alpha state deep meditation where you access your right side of your brain. It takes time to really get into a very deep concentration state and stay conscious at the same time (don't fall asleep). While at this state you can ask your guide questions and you can also ask your higher self questions as well. They might answer you or might not while in that state because maybe you didn't reach that deep level, you will get an answer anyway in your dreams if you don't because you don't have to be in a meditative state to talk to them anyway.
