they still don't. i'm only 17, but i'm beyond my years. i'm also wise enough to realize it is pointless to try to teach them. they already have teachers they arent listening to. as do i. i've been acting like an adult for a few years now. my parents are crap and spineless so i've learned to take on new responsibilities to ensure my survival.

i wouldnt have it any other way, though. i feel so strong now and i'm still loved by others regardless of what my parents feel about me. you just need to assert yourself. the best way to do that is to not think about their opinions when it is something regarding your personal life. don't tell your parents if you're going out or where you're going. it's none of their business. but don't fight with them. you wont get your way. just do what you need to do separate from them.
