Well in my experience, you can never get Scientists to agree on anything, let alone a theory even if the evidence hit them on the head. I've had way too much experience dealing with skeptics. I don't buy the Darwinism theory myself but there are those that do no matter what is discovered.

My own beliefs are that this planet has been inhabited by intelligent humans many times over and some catastrophe has wiped them out each time.

As far as educating people, that is a personal choice and yes you may affect some, but others will chose their own beliefs in accordance with what they want to believe. All you can do is put it out there and hope it sticks to 1% of the people who read it.
