Food for the Gods/share a recipe
This idea has been rolling around in my head for a couple of days....In this forum, we share our ideas, support each other and when anyone is in need, we send out loving energy..in this way, we feed our souls and nourish our spirit.
I wish to share a recipe that literally change a bad relationship to a very wonderful relationship, and thought that if you have a favorite recipe, you could share it here. I also included a link that will provide conversion as I am in the US and measurement standards are different around the world.
Jam Bars
2 sticks of butter (1 cup)
1/2 cup of sugar
2&1/4 c flour
1 jar (12 ounces) appricot preserve (any kind of preserve can be used,)
melt butter in sauce pan. remove from heat and then add and stir in sugar. then add flour and stir it with a spoon until it forms a ball. divide this ball in half and spread (using your hands) half the ball in the bottom of a 9x12 pan.(do not butter the pan as the ball has enough butter in it so it will not stick)
spread the jam on top and crumble the other half of the ball over the jam.
Bake at 350F for 30 minutes. cool and cut into squares...refrigerate for an hour.

Whenever my father in law was eating something he loved he would beam and say "this is food for the gods" he was a lucky man as my mother in law was a master chef in her own right.
The recipe comes from a co-worker. The story is a bit long so I will blog it instead of taking up space here. I always think of her when making this. Food is a powerful way to say I like/love you.
Enjoy!
