Can someone who is a master tell if someone else is attuned?

If someone is giving a distant healing, or even attunement, how do they know where that person is? I've had a look at the site and all you put is in name, address and email. How can you id a perosn from that? especiallly if there is more than one person in the house, who may be fibbing about their details?
