It was sold in the USA and Canada as a Rover 3500 and in the EU as a Rover SD1. It had a four speed manual transmission (later upgraded to a Honda built five speed) and a 3.5 liter, all aluminum, Rover V-8 (nee Buick V-8 which is who owned the engine prior to 1969 though BL liked that it had previously been a Buick engine as David Dunbar Buick had originally been from Glasgow, Scotland).
