Good question!
The person who inspires me most is Mahatma Gandhi. I cannot begin to describe why...it's funny but one man can make you love a country so much..a country you've never been to...that's what happened to me.

I think Gandhi was one of the wisest men that ever lived. He knew a lot, he had the understanding that could lead a nation and even the world. He'd be a perfect leader for today. He valued human life (he didn't push India to a revolution), he valued respect even for people who tortured him/his families.., he never hesitated from standing up, never doubted his beliefs, never feared his path...I wpnder if the world would have been same if he hadn't stood up for non violence even when his supporters sought for violence..you jsut have to admire the life of a man who stands up even against his greatest supporters for what he believes in...its easy to stand up againt your enemies but not so when it's standing against your supporters, teachers and friends..

If you're gonna look for someone trusly spiritual..I think he's the one..
WALK ALONE

(Favourite chant of Mahatma Gandhi)

Walk alone.

If they answer not to thy call, walk alone;
If they are afraid and cower mutely facing the wall,
Open thy mind and speak out alone.

If they turn away and desert you when crossing the wilderness,
Trample the thorns under thy tread,
And along the blood-lined track travel alone.

If they do not hold up the light when the night is troubled with
storm,
With the thunder-flame of pain ignite thine own heart,
And let it burn alone.

RABINDRANATH TAGORE Here's an old thread of Gandhi Lessons..quite messy now with the codes and everything
