just to add to the comments about the bailout plans mentioned here...

another sign of the "falling" could maybe be a program i bumped into on the ol' television last night.

it was abc investigating where all this bailout money is going! and the reporters had good points and were generally pretty peeved about the gov. asking for "transparency" and then not abiding by that themselves.

the whole point was that no one knows where the american peoples' money is going to. in fact, i distinctly remember the main reporter saying, "this is what the governments of corrupted 3rd world countries do, and now its happening here in america!?"

just an interesting tidbit. the fact that they'd even allow a showcase on this topic is a sign of something. what? i dont know...
