i see obama's election as being symbolic of the state of consciousness of the entire planet and not just the united states. although in this reality we are divided by international borders we are really all in this together. my experiences with travel have proved to me that people in different countries are remarkably similar. there are obviously cultural differences such as the clothes people wear and the food they eat but in the grand scheme of things these are just superficial differences.
i'm sure in time we will all see positive changes in the way our countries are run. the changes in governments in the developed countries such as the us and australia have showed that the people are not prepared to accept a continuation of the corruption that has been going on and people have also got sick of the way their countries have exploited the developing countries. people are generally more aware of how their choices affect others and this is demonstrated by the growing popularity of ethical shopping for example.
we have have discussed the fact that our own collective consciousness is reflected in the way the world is governed and with the raising of vibrations all over the planet this is inevitably going to filter through to our governments. here in the uk we have witnessed many positive developments over the past few weeks with the astonishing greed of the bankers who have basically controlled this country being well and truly exposed. 10 years ago there is no way this would have happened. the banks had continued paying their executives astronomical bonuses despite having to be propped up by the taxpayer. people have finally realised that the greed of a few has caused many of the country's problems.
just today i have witnessed a very positive development with regards to the british prime minister, gordon brown. he has been visiting barack obama in washington dc and it has been encouraging to see the natural rapport that seems to be there between them. brown's speech to congress was also very well received, particularly when he mentioned his commitment to work with obama to tackle the greed of the super-rich and crack down on offshore tax havens. there is no doubt in my mind that things are changing for the better, not only in the united states but also overseas.
