i always look at it from the point of view of a river. when you set out in a small boat upstream, you're almost absolutely certain that you'll end up downstream. on the same river.
however every time the river branches it becomes less certain where you will end up... every human choice can be considered a branching.
some aspects like mountains and valleys in the terrain will have an influence inspite of our choices. and the ocean is going to be there in the end no matter what.
so a lot is cast in stone, and a lot is not.
you say quantum physics negates the idea that we can see the future. i don't see that. can you elaborate on that?
