i think the wound is symbolically desrcibing how it feels to think for a moment you are alone and seperate from the one, so i would say its more an effect of coming to the earth and through the ring of forgetfulness.

filled with inner joy , knowing they are one with everything.

its not a sickness, its just a fact that when we are born in to this reality, we chose seperation as a form of schooling, its not an illness its more a condition that we accept for our personal soul growth. its an adventure!
