i feel i have to chime in a bit on this subject due to some "skeptical" feelings i've had about it.

first let me make very clear that i'm referring only to the idea of many-strand (12) dna in this case.

it seems to me that it has become a bit on an internet phenomenon associated with the new age culture. that is, people were obsessed with "healing" and with "ascending" to some degree and then scientists popularized dna as being responsible for our structure... so these people then immediately caught on and said "well then dna must be able to be changed and there must be some higher form" ... and despite the links presented here (which never mention many-strand dna, and otherwise seem credible) i see alot of this stuff as being much like i described.

clearly dna can be changed, and we understand as little about it as we do of other physical sciences because we're barking up the wrong tree for the most part. but really... why do you never hear stuff about the possibility of many-stranded dna etc from anyone who is in a position to know? like... someone trained in genetics? or at least a credible experimental researcher?

this is certainly not meant to be an attack (and the mods can delete it if they think it comes off as one) but i really would like to know if there is credible non-internet-spiritual-hysteria-induced data about dna in any form other than two-strand.
