Default The Don Wilcock blog and Seth on dementia and the afterlife
i have not read the seth material. been meaning to, but there is so much out there to absorb...just haven't done it yet.

anyway, the discussion in yesterday's blog entry regarding don's mother's (david's grandmother's) gradual passage to the afterlife and david's apparently controversial communication with her got my attention.
my own mother is deep into alzheimer's and i have given a great deal of thought and meditation to the question of what is happening to an alzheimer's sufferer as he or she reaches those later stages. my mom is at the point now where we can only barely get her to tune in for a matter of seconds before she drifts away again. virtually everything of her personality and consciousness seems to have slipped away. i know that she is whole and complete somewhere, but that place is clearly somewhere other than her physical mind.

so having read about david's experience of communication with his grandmother from the other side while her body was still alive rang true for me. i have not had any communication with anyone ever from beyond death, and don't know whether or not i will. but it does seem more than plausible that she may be nearly whole in the spirit world, waiting for the last shreds of her consciousness to be set free.

one of the problems with alzheimer's is that the dying one has no way to participate with family members in the grieving process. when you die from any other protracted disease, you have time to process your passing with those whom you care about. with sudden death, you do not, but there is immediate closure for all involved. dementia robs all concerned of both communication and timely closure, since the victim is suspended in a state of death-in-progress for years.

the notion of communication with the lost part of a dementia sufferer could be very healing and helpful for all involved. i guess it's time to rustle up the seth books and see what i can find on this.
