now, can anyone shed some light upon the meaning of the two dates dec 28 2011, the actual end of the mayan calendar and dec 21 2012 when the sun makes the alignment with the dark road, the center of our galaxy? there's a confusing debate going on which one is "right" with fractions almost like christians and muslims quarreling. according to carl-johan calleman and the mayan elders the important one is oct 28 2011, since that's the date the calendar actually ends, but that doesn't mean dec 21 2012 doesn't count. the whole ballgame in chichen itza is built on that date when the sun aligns with the galactic center. the ball kicked with the hip into the ring at the wall in the football ground was thought to "help" the sun make this alignment. both are correct of course, the issue is how they are related and what that means. calleman was interviewed on redice creations (a radioshow in sweden run by henrik palmgren) where he states that the dec 21 2012 date is "but" an astronomical alignment. the mayan calendar is built on the human gestationcycle and has nothing to do with astronomy or astrology. this fact seem to have influenced calleman at least some years ago (i know from 1:st hand experience) that western astrology is "nothing" compared to the mayan calendar and "astrology". now that he works together with barbara hand clow he must have changed his view.
