when trying to help the masses realize their ignorance, intolerance, disrespect, and unloving nature is not the right way to go they just test me, tell me i'm wrong, and annoy me in whatever way until i have to snap and become one of 'them' and act animalistic to protect myself and my stance. one very, very important point ra talks about is that
it is impossible to help another entity
. another opens up to a new configuration and thereby helps themselves, but free will means that another individual will always be the gatekeeper.
ra also advises one to "forget the counting" and not focus on big, obvious changes. reaching one person at a time is just as powerful in a unified creation as reaching the world.
in my opinion, there is nothing wrong with defending yourself, but reflect on whether you're provoking these annoyances. if you're trying to enlighten people who don't want it, you might want to reconsider this approach. i've found that the best way to reach people is individually by listening, and waiting for them to ask a question or express some problem they cannot solve. it takes patience and - to a certain extent - the sublimation of the ego, but it's good practice.
