i clearly heard a distant voice talking. i could separate some words but all in all it was way to quiet, like someone had turned on tv downstairs [though everyone else in the house went asleep long before this occured]. does this has anything to do with channeling? and, if not, could someone enlight me what the hell was it?

i had very similar experience few times with some differences.

this doesn't look as channeling. in process of channeling "somebody" using your brain, body and senses to provide information - by talk, by writing etc. but in this case you are just observer from outside. you not participating in this type of contact. for me it looks similar to medium. i personally never had such experience.
