i wondered about that, too but i'm sure david wouldn't have mentioned it if there wasn't ample evidence. i'm not saying i believe that, but i did think it was interesting. since i don't follow any particular person or religion, whenever people ask what i believe in, i usually just say "possibilities". so i guess i'd say that's a possibilitiy.

and as onething pointed out, there is probably more than one instance where this "mark of the beast' will rear it's ugly head. i find that the deeper an archetype is imbedded in our society and our culture the more levels it contains, so it could actually manifest in probably about 666 different ways.
