yes excersise is very important, jogging is good for keeping yourself contained and confident... i find the more confident you are, the easier it is to manage your own energy and managing how you deal with other peoples... so the question 'how to deal with empathic stress' is also imo 'how to become more confident'? :-

excersise, (jogging, martial arts, yoga)
moderation (food,drink etc..)
pursuing your goals, try to do a little something everyday to get closer to your dreams.
