interesting concept. i believe it has merit and is well worth further study. i have found the seven churches of revelation to be the description of the 'octave of creation' or the 7 platonic solids, vibrations of life that i read about in the soa. if one attaches the different meanings of the colors to the order of the churches and equates that to the 'spiritual evolutionary ladder' you can see the progression of enlightenment correspond to the increase of the gift for overcoming these hurdles. i see the colors like this:
yellow, primary, fixed meaning mind, red, primary, mutable meaning body and blue primary, cardinal and meaning spirit. if you use the color wheel and begin with red, or the carnal aspect you see that in this early stage we are very open to other influences and can 'mix' easily. adding just the least bit of 'mind' to body gets you orange. continue towards intellect and you lose the red to be 'purely' yellow. yellow is something that doesn't go away, it remains 'fixed', once added there is no going back. we proceed to add the blue, or the spirit, i consider it to be wisdom. as we become more green, adding wisdom to intellect we are able to experience love. the spirit, or wisdom, is cardinal. it is the dominant color, or the spirit is the ultimate expression of what we really are. the final 'church' or color is violet, brought about by mixing wisdom with the physical or body to perfect the cycle and allow one to move ahead into the next octave, density or whatever you wish to call it. the seven churches may certainly be a clock , but it is also a well described path for spiritual progress. imo
