my heart really goes out to you kris. pets are family.

i talk to my dog all the time and i always joke that she speaks perfect english. she does understand quite a bit.

what i would suggest is holding your cat, telling her you love her that you will always love her and that it's okay for her to go. tell her all your feelings, what she means to you, say goodbye. i believe she may sense what you are trying to say and that she may be hanging around because she doesn't want to hurt you.
