sigini -

thank you for sharing that link. while i am not of native american heritage, i have long held there ways in high regard.

currently i live near cherokee, nc - this is the home of the eastern band of the cherokee indians. i look to establish links with some of the cherokee people...

i grew up near cahokia, illinois - there is a huge site called cahokia mounds. i was fortunate enough to have gone on several class trips and toured the site. later in life i came to learn that the mound builders were extensive throughout north america and this kept my interest alive.

one thing that always stuck with me from those visits were the "wood henges". from memory, there was evidence that there were like 4 or 5 of these, for lack of a better word, "interacting".

i am curious as to whether these wood henges and the medicine wheels in your link are one in the same. additionally, how similar are they to other native "calendar" systems?

another item that has recently drawn my curiosity is the birdman tablet. i used to have a reproduction as a child. i wonder, could this be "the source" of their information, similar to say, quetzalcoatl?

for anyone interested, here is a link to the website:

thanks again,

art
