Miracles of Nature/Signs of Hope
hi all,
earlier this week i took a mandarin out of my fridge and started to peel it, and at the same time i split the manadarin in half. what i saw next totally amazed me.
one of the seeds had sprouted a brand new shoot, from within the un-opened mandarin, and inside the cold depths of my refrigerator! it was only about 3cm long and at the top of the shoot were some leaves that were starting to grow already. it was such a beautiful bright healthy green colour, against the orange backdrop of the mandarin.
you may be thinking - so what. but i reasearched the chance of this happening, and found it to be most unlikely at all - because manadarins grown from seed, need to be kept in a warm environment for approx. 18 - 21 days before they will sprout.
instantly i took this as a positive sign that 'new life' can be created from an impossible enviroment, and so i immediately buried the half mandarin in my garden in the hopes that it would continue to grow. i dug it out today (pic attached) after a friend suggested to take a photograph of it (expecting it to be rotten by now), only to discover that it had grown some more!
just curious if anyone else here has experienced any positive signs or unlikely events such as this that gave them personal hope of survival?
