i reckon most of you are christian raised as most western people, do you believe some people will be taken to heaven in body and soul before the earth changes, i have read in the internet it might come after a peace treaty is signed in jerusalem, israel.
other versions i have heard seem to nullify this event; in other words everyone stays on the planet when basically the biblical demons are set loose to raise havoc on earth, accompanying earthquakes and other catastrophes.
i know, i know, don´t worry be happy.

i was raised a christian, and i have read the bible pretty extensively, and i have read revelations several times, although not for years. about a week ago, just due to all this stuff we are all discussing, i decided to reread revelations.

i have never liked the book, and i found out a few years ago that the church i was raised in - the eastern orthodox branch of christianity - was against including revelations. in fact, revelations was one of the most controversial books to be included in the canon of the bible. they lost the argument, but to this day they just pretty much ignore it. they have a complex cycle of services which includes reading every bit of the new testament over the course of one year - except revelations.

somehow in prior readings it passed my notice that the one speaking or giving the revelation to john was supposed to be christ himself. perhaps it was this which made such an impression upon me in this reading that i can state with absolute confidence that the book of revelation is not from the same entity known as jesus of the gospels. nor from the father he told us about.

if i am wrong, i do not know god at all.

the book of revelation may or may not have value on some level, such as the codes or allusions mentioned by one of the posters here, but as a spiritual guide it is derelict, worthless, negative. it glories in death and revenge and destruction and violence. the angels of revelations are demons.

maybe it does have some predictive value, after all a wise old 5th density disembodied, negative entity might be privy to some things that we are not.

i think the purpose of the book of revelations may have been to tear christianity down and it almost certainly has done so. what a terrible blight is this book! how i wish its terrible spell were broken.

you could do worse than to tear it out of your bible and place it in the outhouse against possible lack of toilet paper.
