i hear ya, daz. but remember, you're only repelled by what you guess will happen. that's not necessarily how it will be.
you are loathe to give up your individuality, and this is natural for 3rd density, since the greatest fear of the little i am, the ego, the self with the little "s" is to cease to exist.
remember, there are two ways in which one may exist in pure harmony with a great number of others: perfect sacrifice of the individual will, or perfect communication and joint awareness of reality.
the first represents the purest form of harmony that we are familiar with: slavery. perfect slavery is perfect harmony. and i think it is your disgust with slavery that brings you these feelings.
but consider the other: when you have two beings that are perfectly omniscient, is it possible for there to be any disagreement between them? nope. disagreement and disharmony exist only when there is a difference in understanding. if one person says that the answer is "blue," and the other says it is "green," then one or both have a viewpoint that is not perfectly grounded in absolute truth, and their differing understandings of reality is what leads them to disagree. but if both are perfectly omniscient, there is no possibility of disagreement between them, as they both have an identical (perfection is identical to perfection; only imperfection can differ) understanding of reality.
thus you can be a perfectly aware, perfectly satisfied part of a greater whole without giving anything up. and, supposedly, this is what we are all aiming for.
i'm not trying to convince you or win you over; just point out an angle here that i think you may be missing.
