i enjoyed reading the castaneda books but didn't integrate the material since almost all of it seemed sts-oriented. there isn't any fourth-chakra material in there that i can find at all. so as far as how real or workable anything is in there, i find it difficult to know which parts really worked for carlos and which parts were don juan's set-ups.

i personally found quite a few things in several of his books that i was able to relate too (since i had experienced similiar experiences on my own before coming across any of the castaneda books/any book for that matter).
i never felt it to to be sts-oriented but sto-oriented. why? because over all, it is helping one come closer to their inner knowing/understanding along with their inner light... which brings one ever more closer to their true being, love. and the closer you get to your true being, the more you care for that which is and those who are all around you.
