hi rhonda,
i have also always responded to music in the same way that you describe.
even as a child, i would try to find classical music on the radio to listen to when no one in the household ever listened to it or appreciated it.

as an adult, i try to get to as many symphony orchestra presentations as i can and i still listen to only classical and soothing meditation cds or new-age type music to calm my soul. it's interesting to notice that even classical music that has an extremely fast beat or is purposely written with lots of sharps and flats has the opposite effect and actually makes me uneasy and jittery.

the sound of music !
i had read or someone told me that sound and light are the same or similar.
perhaps someone can help me understand this idea a little more. it makes
sense, but i have not look further....
there is quite a bit of material in loo regarding the vibratory frequency of colors and sounds. and google has lots of material on the subject, too. one of the similarities appears to be that both colors (as in the rainbow) and sounds (as in the musical scale, do-re-mi-fa-so-la-ti-do) are arranged in octaves which seems to be a universal principle. this is a wonderfully interesting subject to research, and i'm afraid i've only begun to scratch at the surface.

love and light,
nancy
