great topic, rhonda. there was a time in my life when nothing would pass my lips without a silent prayer of thanks to god. since i left organized religion, that particular habit has become less ingrained, although i do frequently remember to be thankful... just have not been sure about where the thanks should be directed. your comments are absolutely right: let's give thanks to and for "all types of food that was once living".

and bbb's reference to masaru emoto's research on the messages of water is right on target, too. since reading emoto's fascinating books, i have put most of my drinking water into bottles labeled with "love" and "thanks" and some key geometric shapes and numbers. i also use colored bottles for storage (blue, green and violet) so the the water molecules will harmonize with the frequencies of those colors.

you wrote: "i recently saw a piece related to the processing of beef and the uncaring, heartless acts against sick or weak cattle. it was so hard to believe and witness such a terrible lack of compassion for all of life during this man made process that involves time and money."

i could not bring myself to actually watch that video. i was about to click on the start prompt, and i couldn't do it. i've seen slaughter house clips before and am overwhelmed with sadness at the cruel treatment of such gentle animals. i cringe and my heart hurts whenever i see trucks carrying farm animals to slaughter. something about it just seems so wrong. and, yet, i do sometimes eat meat....although much less than in the past.

maybe, as we continue to raise our vibration higher toward 4th density, we'll be less inclined to need or want to consume meat. (actually, i think i might have read that in the ra material and will go check it out...)

with love and light,
nancy
