i admit that i do forget sometimes, but i do think it's very important. i've read something awhile ago that said that many times the animals are full of fear when they are slaughtered, because of the conditions where they are killed. the author said this fear gets trapped in the animals' flesh, and the only way to release it was by blessing the food.

i was raised on a farm, so i guess i don't feel as guilty about eating meat. i've seen the young calves frolicking in the pasture, and thought to myself, if it weren't for us meat eaters, they would have never been born, and they would never have experienced life.

however i did see the video about those poor animals, and there is simply no excuse for that. and i've seen the conditions that some chickens were kept in, and for that reason i always buy the free-range eggs, even tho they cost twice as much. if we can't give our animals a good quality life, then we have no business raising them.
