this is definelty a great thread, i have been lax on this issue too. i remember seeing all those videos on peta back in my early college years and wept, i was converted 100% vegetarian. this inspired me to work at a large pig farm, to see it from both sides. this was not easy, but i dont regret it either. i discovered that noone thier was inherently "cruel" but pig farming overall is a disturbing practice, just by the simple fact you have to make calls everyday on life or death.

i must have been blessed to be a blood type who can be a vegetarian wich i never discovered until now. or i have a cows stomach. but to be one you have to be smart, you cant just eat nothing but salads, or just x meat out, you will definelty be missing some essentials. im not saying its easy, but you have to research into specific nutrition of everything you eat. i have never felt better and for a solid year in college i was actually a vegan, and ate only whole natural unprocessed foods, although now ive lightened up a tad and will ocassionally eat farm raised fishes such as trout salmon and catfish (although i do think about the horrible deaths they endured). and skim milk in my cereal, for the simple fact that i was tired of all the ridicule, i didnt think being a vegetarian would offend people so much!

im glad people are waking up to these often overlooked issues
