Default Hagelin and the "TM Gang"
hey all -

i wanted to know what other people in this forum "thought" of our friends in peace at the maharishi/oneness university. dr. hagelin is a very good speaker (or at least the youtube clips i've seen of his are very good) and i certainly appreciate his ability to communicate peace scientifically on a "quantum level". when i get to purchase dw's "science of peace" next month i'll enjoy "comparing" the messages (i believe dws gonna be much better though - maybe a little preconceived bias? ).

anyway, the reason i ask about the "tm gang" is that there is negative publicity out there, which is very unfortunate, given their objectives of "amplifying meditation which results in peace". i can ignore the negativity, however, the only thing i don't like is "forking out" $5k to learn a technique - i think something like this should be free to all. to enrich my learning, i'm more than willing to shell out some cizash, but $5k is too much for a teacher. you may be asking yourself, "can you really put a price on such a thing?" yes and no. what i've learned up to this point is priceless, however, i sense that their practice of "overcharging" leads to separation and elite-ism. while i am certainly appreciative of what they are doing, i wish some things would be different. peace experts? yeah, i believe in such a "classification", however, we all wish to become "peace experts", right? the future belongs to all of us and we'll all take part.

i don't know how to classify my personal meditation techniques, i just know they are working and i'm getting better at it. and, soon, i hope to start group meditation... i don't want to be made to feel like i'm missing out or "inferior" because i'm not tm trained... but, i'm guessing thats a limitation i'm projecting on myself, so tisk tisk.

wouldn't it be nice if all of "us" embracing the shift worked together? its not about competition, but cooperation. people will flock where they will, and if only we could connect and help to spread love now...
