i have some odd thought about it, so please bear with me here:
there's the saying, "it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of god." (matthew 19:24)
so possibly the bridge failed because someone was penny wise and pound foolish.
the hebrew word "gimel" relates to the word "camel" in the essence of the "bridge", getting stuff from here to there.
one of the most important bridges seems within the human mind, called the "corpus callosum", which "bridges" the cerebral hemispheres.
so the breakdown in the minneapolis bridge may be related to a masculine trait, i.e. a breakdown in the bridging between the cerebral hemispheres that allows things like penny wise and pound foolishness.
and hence a difficulty in entering the kingdom of god because the minneapolis bridge has fallen apart.
