i think what one of my wise friends said to me on another online group is befitting of the pakal photo as well as the aztec 5th sun mentioned. let me tie them together for you as well as dissect it here a bit.

in the pakal photo first we see the bird or the feathered serpent above. then we see the cross/serpent/4 earth directions. and the eyes are gazing upward as if towards the sun. pakal is in a relaxed state…his eyes are wide open. we also see what looks like a tree. he looks like he is about to take off, to go somewhere. well he is for sure! hmmm i wonder why the sun features so prominently here as well as in the article about the 5th sun.

my wise friend said:

“birds, doves, feathers, vultures and ibises (egyptian), eagles, etc. are always symbols of the descending 'enlivening 'spiritual' energetic force of influence, (from the heavens) or the growth of the spirit within.”

“plants, trees, tree of life, branches always speak of, or allegorically indicate the networks of the nervous system or circulatory system in the body.”

“snakes, serpents, dragons (breathing fire), always indicate the influence and/or energy rising from the physical (earth's electro-magnetic energy).”

“last week i was just discussing a large carved wood statue of the chinese goddess, quan yin, with a chinese friend of mine in a relics shop. above her head was an eagle with wings unfurled landing on her shoulder, below her feet was a flame breathing dragon. i asked him if he knew what the symbology meant: he didn't have a clue. so i explained to him that the eagle meant the descending holy heavenly spirit, and the dragon (at her feet) indicated that she had become a
goddess when she had subdued the strong forces of the physical in favor of the heaven sent cosmic energy…”

“whenever, the eagle, dove or bird is over, and a serpent of dragon is below an individual, this is indication of 'human perfection,' a perfect blend of physical and spiritual. this is the personification of the "feathered serpent," as indicated in the symbology of krishna (hindi), buddha (buddhist), jesus (christian), lord pascal (mayan), tutankhamen (egyptian), quan yin (east asian, she was originally male until the 12th century).”

the `feathered serpent' is symbolism to indicate an individual who has attained the `perfected balance' of the earth energies and the sun's (heavenly) energies.”

i think my wise friend had it right!

i am working on attaining my “feathers” (got my work cut out for me for sure) via the practice described above in the pakal photo…sungazing… as well as several other modalities such as contemplation, smiling, laughter, singing, dancing to the latest nelly fertado cd (love that cd!), breath work, and various forms of exercise, and reading this forum.

i do not think that “all of the knowledge of the peoples of the americas” was lost at all. i just think that we have been so blind that we have not seen quite literally what is given to us in each and every day from dawn to dusk…but the knowledge is there if we choose to do something with it and make the intention of learning more.
