NP farmers are unlikely to endorse anything of environmental significance, most still regard the bush as the enemy that must be subdued, and they are not going to change their mind by planting a few trees on their land (of which they personally gain from).
Care to have a guess at what percentage of farmers are involved in Landcare LtS, bet you'd be surprised. Maybe in SW WA that attitude still prevails, but my experience is most farmers do far more good stuff for the environment than a lot of people give them due credit for. I happen to meet with a lot of farmers and attend field days on their properties to see this stuff for myself. They deserve respect, not demeaning. Yes, there are Neanderthals, but they're certainly not the majority you paint them as. As for their voting preferences, I've not asked, but I'd be surprised if at least a few didn't lean more right than left overall.

Anyway, that's me getting too far off-topic again.
