Ok, I had a look - it is not a portal, but something new for me.
It is a wormhole - literally

I did try to close it and it reopened immediately - a worm-creature did bite it open and came out. It does seem to be anchored to you. I do not know yet what it really does or is.
What have you been doing lately?
