Hello, Richard.
Some thoughts about this.
There's a lot of references to different levels and heights, so one could look at it as a plane of experience. There's some point of reference at the end of your description - the punks talking violence might indicate the lower astral as the lowest reference point.
The non-reaction to your flying overhead could be various phenomena, for example people you see could be sleepers without any significant degree of lucidity or presence. They're oblivious to their environment, I think Robert Monroe described this for example.
There's a reference to a night school lesson. The topic - how to memorise better - looks very similar to all the night school references I've read it in other's OBE references, like Monroe for example. Mind skills are common, I think. Like giving people additional tools to handle their lives better.
The information you gleam from inspecting the woman seems to pertain to her function - her degree of development (administration could imply a higher level of teacher or guide).
For a while I've been seeing mobile phones in people's dreams here on site as a symbol for communication with a higher self or with a higher plane. It's your link "up," for example. "High" as in "high tech." That your means of communication is broken here might be a reflection of your unwillingness to ask for help. You might not be willing to reach out for the information at this moment that you would need to understand what happened in that courtroom - what it's function was.
"Washing the car" could relate to a purification of the energy body.
The snake is often used as a symbol for rebirth because it sheds its skin. So we can assume this is about change. But this change is deeper than the skin. So, a change that goes below the surface. Blood is life force, energy. A change at the deeper level, the energetic level. The imagery might imply you have some trouble handling the changes.
I think the gravity you think about in the end is the confining force you would feel if you'd be at that stage of your learning as these people, restraining you to that level. Of course you would experience this as severely limiting and tragic. If you'd change that statement you'd see how the attitudes and behaviours of the punks you see confine them to where they are, and this is tragic in a sense, if you're inclined to see it from your perspective (or here: vantage point). Limitations one has largely grown out of never look attractive.
There's no going back - growth invariably changes one and creates a distance. You can see this reflected in the many posts on this site where people say they can no longer relate to the people they grew up with.
Cheers,
Oliver
