Hi parkerness

It is interesting that just quite recently many people have reported that they have had an OBE while still dreaming. Most of these accounts are very similar to yours (alhough there are, of course, some minor differences in each account). IMO most of these experiences, including yours, were actual OBEs where the consciousness DID separate from the physical body for at least a short time (a minute or two). However what probably happened to you (and most of the others who had a similar experience) was that you could not quite attain a clear astral consciousness because dream imagery kept interfering. It is quite possible that you were still very close to your physical body during the OBE (this usually causes confusion). Yet you had just enough astral clarity to realize that it Was an OBE and not a dream.
This again goes to show that there can be an Extremely fine line between an OBE and a dream (and a lucid dream). So it might only take a little bit of extra mental energy to deliberately induce a full OBE from a dream state.
