Christ is a "Priest of Melchizedek, "a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek" - Psalm 110. That means you don't have to be with Christians to receive Christ's blessings, since the function of the priest is to bestow gifts, in this case "for ever." The protestant reformation underscored that point, namely that no human priest is required. So, if you want what Christ has to offer, ask him.

With regard to groups of practitioners, listen to your own conscience because it knows the truth. Only do things that feel right. If it feels even a little wrong, stop and take another long look before proceeding. Not doubting that little voice inside is real power!
