Have you tried the energy raising and body loosening exercises before you work on exiting? Creating a sense of physically sinking, allowing gravity to pull you down, both helps to create a stronger trance state more quickly and it counts as a body loosening exercise. Regular energy work at a separate time from your projections helps, too. Then when you have the vibrations and it seems like nothing is working, try the Rope technique to finish getting out.
