The problem with rope (IMO) is that it is a forced technique (that is, it 'forces' the energy body out) and that's what it makes it so effective- but it's also the reason that it's so misunderstood, and the source of so much frustration. It takes you in your body (when I say 'you' I mean your point of view) and then it forces you up and out in a tactile central way.
The problem is that too many people use it before their energy body is loose, and they get tired of it before their energy body is ready to be forced out. Another problem is that many people use it after they've separated (and don't realize it) putting themselves back in to get back out again. This is easier to fix, because it's a matter of synchronizing the brainwaves with the surroundings, but IMO the first problem is the hardest to correct, because of the element of programming that comes into it.
But when you use it as a last resort, or when you're truly ready, it's unequaled, IMO.
